My Review
As a listener, I am happy to discover that I can listen to the Atlantis Audiobook by Mark Tufo and John O’Brien for free. After the success of the first part, I was eagerly waiting for the second one to see how the story would progress. I expected the authors to add more excitement and depth to the plot, and they did not disappoint.
The authors did a fantastic job of painting a detailed picture of the new world and the aliens that inhabited it. While there was action in the first book, I appreciated how much time was spent on explaining the intricacies of this new world. It made me feel like I was right there, experiencing it alongside the characters.
Mike is lucky to have a friend named Trip by his side, who was also present in the previous series. However, they quickly realize that Trip’s help alone is not enough, and they need to bring Jack into their group to increase their chances of survival.
What intrigued me the most about this new world is that it is not just infested with zombies like in the previous books. Instead, there are extraordinary creatures known as the Whistlers. The planet remains in a dire situation, similar to the other worlds the heroes have encountered, yet they have no desire to save it.
In these circumstances, running seems like the best option for Mike, Trip, and Jack. They search for a doorway to escape but instead stumble upon something evil that has deep roots in the planet. This unforeseen evil throws them into another hopeless situation, causing them to lose their willpower and passion for survival.
As I listen to Sean Runnette narrate the story, I can’t help but feel the characters’ pessimism and despair. His delivery effectively conveys the emotions and challenges faced by the trio. I am drawn into their world, eagerly waiting to discover how they will overcome this new obstacle.
Overall, the Atlantis Audiobook offers an engaging and thrilling experience, with its unique world, fascinating creatures, and a sense of hopelessness that keeps me on the edge of my seat. I am grateful that I can enjoy this audiobook for free and eagerly await the next installment in the series.
